Mutual love is not the only guarantee that a relationship will last

As a woman, it is common to expect to find the right person. However, when we have found someone who we think is suitable, but it turns out not in line, hm ... it seems like we have to let him go. This is my love story that is not as beautiful as Korean dramas.

My name is Kinan, I am just an ordinary girl who only wants to study in the city to pursue my dreams and aspirations. At that time, in 2006 I started moving to the city to study. First experience for being away from parents.

It is in this city that I set foot hoping for a miracle to happen to all my dreams. Including getting a girlfriend. Day after day I lived as a high school student, while continuing to hope that someone would notice me. But it turns out that even until I graduated from high school, no one became my boyfriend. "Hm ... okay fine," I thought, because when I was in high school I was focused on studying. At this point I made peace with my heart, and soon forgot the sweet story at school that was only wishful thinking.

After graduating from high school, in 2009 I continued studying at a public university in the same city when I was in high school. Entering the world of college, I met many people from various regions.

When I entered college, the first thing I thought about was studying, so count if someone strikes, it means the name is bejo. For me, I don't really bother looking for a life partner because I'm still in the early semesters, I'm still young anyway.

Entering the 3rd semester, I started to get close and feel comfortable with my classmate, whose name was Radit, maybe because we were doing group assignments too often. To the point that I believed in the Javanese adage that "witing tresno jalaran saka kulina" (at first it was a pity because I often shared more or less the explanation in Indonesian so).

When we were close, I realized that at that time Radit had a girlfriend, who was studying in the capital city, and at that time their status was LDR. However, I have to keep my distance from Radit to avoid unwanted things or misunderstandings that will happen.

Some time later, I heard the news that Radit had broken up with his girlfriend. When I heard this news, in my heart I asked, “How come? Or is this their LDR effect? ” I thought to myself.

When I met Radit I also asked why they broke up, and the answer given by Radit was quite reasonable. Because it is long distance, the time for quality time is not enough if it is only via chat, telephone or SMS (yes, you know that video call by WhatsApp is not yet popular). Due to the limited distance, finally Radit and his girlfriend chose their separate paths.

After Radit broke up, gradually we got closer, we got used to being together, sometimes we spent quality time telling stories, eating or watching together. So that without us knowing it, it turns out that we have the same taste and we acknowledge it with each other.

Until the time we graduated, I had thought that this would be the end of my story with him. The fear of losing him was great. Because we only admit our feelings, without daring to decide to be together. After graduating from college, we still have time for quality time together. Up to my hardest point, when I was struggling to become a job seeker, he was there to raise my spirits.

Until the end, we met and discussed this statusless relationship. We tried to talk from the heart to this relationship, and we decided to get in touch. Although we realize that the consequence of our relationship is not getting the blessing of our parents, because of our different beliefs.

3.5 years we were in a relationship together without knowing a clear direction. Whenever we talk about the direction of this relationship, we always hit a dead end. We came to a point where we were tired of relationships that were getting increasingly erratic.

January 2017 is the end of my story. We met after our silence. We shared our silent experiences with each other. And we decided to go our separate ways. It's hard when you have to say the word farewell. But that's the path I have to choose.

Different beliefs make us have to separate, we don't want to get married without the blessing of both parents. When we start off with a good start, then we end well.
